I have been to Ho Chi Minh City (the best city in Vietnam), and I always choose to live in the Indo Serviced Apartment based on over 30 accommodations research I have done. It is the best-valued accommodation that I can recommend. It offers budget-friendly rates, a professional gym, and a prime location, making it a popular choice for travelers. The Best Budget Accommodation
Indo Service Apartment is a budget accommodation that offers spacious rooms with a kitchen and the best gym in Saigon. It is located in Saigon Japanese Street with proximity to most of the tourist attractions in District 1.
Indo Serviced Apartment Review
Indo Serviced Apartment sits in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City (“HCMC”), specifically in District 1, Saigon Japanese Street. The full address is “8A/6C2 Thai Van Lung, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam”. The Japanese street (aka Saigon Japan Town) is one of the busiest areas in HCMC with restaurants, bars, convenience shops, and all you need nearby.
The Indo Serviced Apartment actually refers to multiple buildings in the area. I have been there several times alone and with a group of friends. Each time, I was assigned to a different room. You would only know your apartment location during your check-in at the reception. A guest guide will be offered with information like wifi, gym operation hours, and laundry arrangements.
The room size ranges from 20 m2 to over 50 m2. Regardless of the size, it contains a comfortable bed, a kitchen, bath bathroom, a fridge, air-condition and a water dispenser. So it is a perfect set of facilities for a long stay.
The best part of the apartment is on the 4th floor of the reception building. It has a 2-tier gym with all the weight and cardio machines I need to keep my body in shape!
The Best Way to Book an Indo Service Apartment
You can book the apartment in advance via their official website or a third-party platform like Booking.com or Agoda.
During my previous visits, I usually would book through Booking.com. In general, it has a lower price as compared to the official website and Agoda. Also, it would list out all the options available on the selected days. Most importantly, I can chat with the property directly via the booking.com message system. Additionally, the review system on the platform can provide some accountability for the apartment’s service.

Booking.Com Is Cheaper
Booking.com usually offers cheaper prices than Agoda or the official website. Other than that, the message system is good for communication with the apartment directly. The booking display is clear, and the review system offers some accountability to the apartment side to perform.

As I briefly mentioned, the apartment offers a set of great benefits at a cheap price. Below, I will deep-dive a bit more based on my stay.
The Best Gym In HCMC District 1
The main reason Indo stands out from all the other accommodations in HCMC District 1 is its gym facility. The facility is open to all guests daily from 7 am to 9 pm. It is the best complimentary gym I have seen around the world.
The gym room is located on the 4th floor of the reception building. It has two floors with all the equipment I need. All the weight training machines from leg, to back, to chest and etc are located on the first floor. Other than that, there is also a set of dumbbells for you to choose from.
On the basement floor, the gym offers all the cardio machines and barbells for free weights. On top of that, it has a boxing training area with a climbing facility. At the end of the running machine, it has a cozy area for yoga and meditation.
The variety is greater than most budget hotels in other areas like Hanoi and Nha Trang. It is comparable, if not better than, a luxury hotel, which would cost you more than 100 USD per night.
The gym is also well equipped with unisex toilets, showers, a water dispenser, a TV with a YouTube collection, and five air-conditioners. I have never seen any other budget accommodation would offers such great facilities. I enjoyed working out there daily during my stay in HCMC.
The Room Is Large And Suitable For a Long Stay
As I mentioned earlier, the smallest room is around 20 m2 and the largest is over 50 m2. Each of them has an individual bathroom, a large bed, a living room, a water dispenser, and a kitchen facility.
Each room also has a TV, air-conditioner, and good reception of wifi. On top of that, the apartment offers paid laundry at less than 2 USD and a dedicated WhatsApp group for each of the customers in case of any need. Based on that, it is the ideal location for short or long stays in HCMC.

All You Need For Long Stay
Each room in the Indo Serviced Apartment is spacious, equipped with a kitchen, bathroom, air conditioner, good Wi-Fi, TV, and more. It is ideal for a long stay or for working remotely in HCMC.
Proximity to All the Main Attractions of HCMC With Affordable Price
Location is a major win here. Nestled in District 1, Indo Serviced Apartment puts you steps away from Saigon’s iconic sights. The Saigon Opera House is just 400 meters away, while landmarks like the Saigon Zoo, Saigon Central Post Office, and Notre Dame Cathedral are within a short stroll, around 10 minutes. The Saigon River and ferry to Vung Tau are also within 10 10-minute walk. The closest metro station is also within 5 minutes’ distance, in case you are planning to destination outside District 1, such as Suoi Tien Theme Park.
By staying there, I managed to explore all the main attractions in HCMC within just 3 days during my first visit. Additionally, the apartment is also within reach of most day tour pick-up points such as Cu Chi Tunnel, Mekong River, or Vung Tau 1-day trip.
It Is One Of The Cheapest Private Accommodation In District 1
The accommodation price per night ranges from 12 USD to over 100 USD in HCMC. Indo is at the lower end, where a single night is usually around 25 USD for one person or 33 USD for 2 persons. Considering the gym, proximity, and the abundant facilities, it is already a very good price in HCMC.
24-Hour Front Desk
The 24-hour front desk is a standout feature, offering round-the-clock support for guests. Late flight? No problem—check-in is seamless any time of day. The staff’s reputation for friendliness and responsiveness adds to the appeal, whether you need help with luggage or local tips.
Other than that, they accept cash and cards. You will pay the agreed price on Booking.com with no surcharge, even if you pay with a a card. Remember the booking on Booking.com is for reservation only, you pay the property directly.
Located in Saigon Japan Town: Convenience for Food, Massage, and Convenience Shops
Situated in Saigon’s Japan Town, Indo Serviced Apartment surrounds you with convenience. There are at least 2 conveniences in the area. You can find the best and affordable Japanese food in HCMC. The area is also famous for massage shops and bars.

Saigon Japan Town
The apartment is located in the center of Saigon Japan Town. You will find endless great Japanese food at affordable price nearby. Not to mention the Sukiya there opens 24 hours, and a medium Gyudon is only ~ 2 USD (cheapest in the world).
Why Indo Service Apartment May Not Be For You?
No place is perfect, and Indo Serviced Apartment has a few downsides to consider.
It May Not Be A Good Idea With Kids
The lively Japan Town setting, while a perk for solo travelers or couples, might not suit families with kids. The area’s nightlife and crowded streets can feel overwhelming for those with young kids, and the vibe leans more adult-oriented than family-friendly. If you’re traveling with little ones, a quieter spot might be better.
Not to mention, Saigon Japan Town is famous for girl bars. So you can expect a bunch of girls in sexy dresses, greeting customers every night in the narrow alleys.
Hard To Change Apartments If You Don’t Like Them
Given its popularity, Indo Serviced Apartment is often at capacity. This means if your room isn’t to your liking—say, due to a view or minor issue—switching to another unit can be tricky. Booking early and specifying preferences upfront can help mitigate this risk.
The Street Could Be Crowded at Night
Japan Town’s energy is a double-edged sword. At night, the streets buzz with activity from restaurants and bars, which might disturb light sleepers. While the apartments themselves are generally quiet, the surrounding bustle could be a drawback for those seeking peace after dark.
It Is The Best Valued Accommodation In HCMC
Usually, I would love to stay in different places to visit the same destination. However, no matter how hard I research, I cannot find another place in HCMC better than Indo Service Apartment, especially for health-conscious travelers. It has the best gym, great room facilities, a convenient location, and a professional crew at such a cheap price.
