Ultimate Guide To Chatuchak Weekend Market Map

Chatuchak Weekend Market Map Feature Page

This blog post provides you 3 different Chatuchak Weekend Market Maps to help you fully navigate the place within a limited time.

The three types of maps include physical maps, interactive maps, and lastly of course Google maps. All of these three methods have their pros and cons, but a combination of them would help you to get the most from this gigantic market with over 15,000 stores.

There are 30 sessions in the market ranging from Antiques, books, clothes, arts, incense, handcraft, animals, furniture, and leather. But no worries you can browse the whole market within a day or even half a day. As long as you do it strategically with a map.

Physical Map

You can find physical maps of Chatuchak market available at entrance 3 or they have a big information board at all the 3 entrances. If you want to better prepare for the routes, you can also simply refer to our feature page or the image below.

From the physical map, there are three entrances in the market—entrance 1 at the west, entrance 2 at the east, and entrance 3 at the middle. Regardless of the sessions, the market is further broken down into the exterior and interior areas.

To know more about what to buy and eat, feel free to check out our Chatuchak Weekend Market review post.

Main Road of Chatuchak Market

The exterior area consists of the shops on two sides of the main road, forming a circle (or loop). No matter which entrance you start, you should first go around the main road. This is because the shops near the main road tend to be fancier. It is the place where you find the best food, souvenirs, clothes, and accessories in the market.

Depending on how fast you walk. The main road usually takes less than 20 minutes to complete a lap.

The below are the pictures taken from the main road.

Clock Tower Area (Interior Area)

The interior area refers to the shops near the Clock Tower of Chatuchak Market. From the map, you will see multiple shops surrounding the tower located in the center.  You can enter the area from the main road.

At each alley to the clock towers, there will be different shops according to the session. It is worth noting that you will also find some massage shops there for relaxing. Or else there are also public seats near the clock tower for you to take arrest.

The second-hand clothes are usually located near the Clock Tower and so are the restaurants selling very local food like Thai noodles or rice. Although, the alleys could get you lost or confused. You will find most of the shops there similar to the ones on the main road.

Depending on how fast you walk. The main road usually takes less than 20 minutes to complete a lap.

How To Use The Interactive Map

There used to be an app called “Chatuchak Guide” to help you navigate the market. However, it is no longer available since my last visit.

Instead, the official now provides you with an interactive map, that you can access simply by scanning their QR code. You can also scan through our image below or get access through this link.

Although it takes some time to load your location point, the official interactive map is useful during your visit. If you are looking for a particular session or simply get lost in the interior area, using this map can tell you the exact location with a pin on the map. It also shows different sessions with color and descriptions, making the usage more convenient.

From there, you can navigate toward your desired location.

I would use this map only when needed, as I don’t want to shop while having my eyes glued to my phone.

Using the Google Map For Chatuchak Weekend Market

Last but not least, you can easily use Google Maps to navigate the market. First, search “Chatuchak Weekend Market” on your Google Maps. From there, entrance 2 is near Chatuchak Park close to both MRT and BTS stations. From Google Maps, you can search “Viva 8” which closes shop at the entrance 2.

Most of the brands in the market are searchable on Google Maps given they have a certain history of establishment. Also, you can always locate the Clock Tower by searching “Jatajuk Clock Tower”.

The limitation is that Google Maps does not have the display of the 30 sessions. Other than that some small shops may not be searchable there. However, by combining the physical map and interactive map, you can easily navigate your way in the market with all these 3 methods.
