This is a Versailles vs Soc Nau Mud Bath Phu Quoc review for your travel planning.
I went to both the Versailles Mud Bath and Soc Nau Mud Bath during my last 7-day trip to Phu Quoc. Both mineral mud spas are conveniently located in the central part of Phu Quoc Island, making them easy to reach from most hotels around Duong Dong and Long Beach.
Both establishments offer reasonably good experiences when you look at the price and the overall value. However, their atmospheres, setups, and surrounding activities could not be more different.
Which one should you choose for your vacation? Below is my honest, firsthand review and comparison to help you decide.

A Worthy Experience
There are mainly two mud bath center in Phu Quoc. The Versailles and Soc Nau Mud bath center. Both centers offer a decent experience, with reasonable packages starting at ~20 USD.
A Nutshell Of Versailles and Soc Nau Mud Bath

To understand the core differences between the two, you need to look at what each facility offers and how their packages are structured.
Both spas offer two primary tiers of service: a standalone mineral mud bath session, or a bundled wellness package that combines the mud soak with a body massage, hydrotherapy, and sauna access.
- Sóc Nâu Mud Bath (Bùn Khoáng Nóng Sóc Nâu): Located just inland along Nguyen Trung Truc street near central Duong Dong. Standalone mineral mud bath tickets start around 350,000 to 450,000 VND (~$14–$18 USD), while packages bundling a private circular tub soak with a 60-minute body massage generally run between 650,000 and 750,000 VND (~$26–$30 USD).
- Versailles Mud Bath, Spa & Beach Club: Located directly on the coastal beachfront along Tran Hung Dao street in Cua Lap (Bai Truong). Standalone mud bath sessions typically start around 450,000 to 550,000 VND (~$18–$22 USD), while comprehensive packages with full-body massages and private beach club access range from 850,000 to over 1,200,000 VND (~$34–$48 USD). You can check their facility overview on the official Versailles Spa website.
Walk-in visits and online advance bookings are both available at both locations. In general, booking online in advance is significantly better for securing lower discounted rates and skipping ticket counter hassles:
- Booking Sóc Nâu Mud Bath: I find the deals on Klook and Trip.com are both great value for standard bookings. If you are a solo traveler, you will want to book through GetYourGuide instead, which allows single-person packages without local counter surcharges.
- Booking Versailles Mud Bath: You can easily book your packages on Klook or Trip.com for the best rates. Similarly, if you are visiting Versailles alone, you should book via GetYourGuide for hassle-free solo reservations.
Itinerary Tip: Keep Mud Baths to Central Phu Quoc Days
Because both mud baths are situated exclusively in the central corridor of the island, do not make the rookie mistake of trying to group a mud bath on the same day as far-flung northern attractions like Grand World and Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc, or southern highlights like the Hon Thom Cable Car at Sun World Phu Quoc.
Traveling from the northern or southern tips back to the center takes 45 to 60 minutes each way. Keep your mud bath afternoon paired with central activities like visiting the night market, relaxed cafe hopping, or unwinding after airport arrival.
Soc Nau Mud Bath Is More Like A Resort

Compared to Versailles, Sóc Nâu feels much more like an intimate, standalone wellness resort.
From the moment you arrive, the entrance layout resembles a boutique mini water park. The building is designed across three levels: the ground floor houses the main open-air reception and welcome lounge; the second floor provides modern locker rooms, changing booths, and clean private shower stalls; and the third floor leads to the spa treatment rooms.
What sets Sóc Nâu apart is its operational flow. Before taking you to your mud bath, staff guide you to a warm communal jacuzzi pool surrounded by lush tropical landscaping and potted palms to soften your skin and relax your muscles.
From there, you are escorted to your own private, standalone circular stone tub set on a rustic slate-tiled patio beneath cloth sun canopies. The circular tubs feel spacious and private, filled with warm, rich mineral mud that is freshly drained, scrubbed, and refilled for each new customer party. This felt substantially more private and unhurried than the relatively crowded rectangular communal rows at Versailles.
Furthermore, because Sóc Nâu is less heavily promoted to tourist buses, it receives far fewer tour groups. During my afternoon visit, the courtyard was peaceful and quiet, with only a few other guests soaking under the shaded trees.
The massage combos are also noticeably cheaper here. I booked the combined mud bath plus 60-minute hot stone full-body massage package for around 650,000 VND (~$26 USD). After the 20-minute mud soak and herbal steam shower, transitioning upstairs into an air-conditioned room for an unhurried, skilled massage was fantastic value.
If you want an isolated, quiet, resort-like atmosphere where you can genuinely unwind without loud crowds, Sóc Nâu is definitely the one to choose.
Versailles Is More Famous With More Nearby Activities

While Sóc Nâu excels in quiet isolation, Versailles is by far the more famous and visually recognizable brand on the island.
You will see their promotional posters plastered all over central Phu Quoc, especially around the giant King Kong Mart where every tourist shops. Because of this heavy marketing, Versailles draws significantly more foreign travelers, tour groups, and expats.
As a result, the atmosphere at Versailles is noticeably more active, lively, and communal rather than quiet. While the mud tubs are arranged in longer rectangular stone pavilions that can feel busy during peak hours, it is still far less crowded and chaotic than the massive commercial mud pools I experienced during my Hon Tam Nha Trang mud bath review.
What makes Versailles truly special is its beachfront community setting. Rather than sitting enclosed behind resort walls, Versailles is directly integrated into Bai Truong (Long Beach). Right outside the mud spa pavilion, you will find several local beachfront cafes, fruit shake stalls, and seafood shacks.
Even better, your visit gives you direct access to Versailles Beach with free entry, complimentary sun loungers, and umbrellas right along the shoreline. After finishing your mud soak and herbal steam room session, you can put on your clothes and take a long, breezy coastal walk on the sand while watching the waves crash in.
The 7:00 PM Beach Fire Show & Breathing Fire
The crowning highlight of choosing Versailles is their nightly beach entertainment. Every single evening at 7:00 PM, the beachfront restaurant right in front of the mud spa hosts an energetic live fire dancing show right on the sand along Long Beach, featured as a prime island nightlife tradition by Vietnam Tourism.
There is no mandatory entrance fee for the show—you simply sit down at the beachfront tables and order a cold drink, with local beers and fresh coconuts costing under 50,000 VND (~$2 USD). The fire dancers spin flaming poi, twirl blazing fire staves, and blast massive clouds of sparks against the dark ocean horizon:
At the climax of the show, the performers invite enthusiastic audience members up onto the sand to interact directly with the flames. I stepped up and actually breathed fire into the night sky for the first time in my life! It was an exhilarating, unforgettable travel memory—though blowing burning vapor can certainly carry risks, so only participate if you are confident and fully aware of the safety hazards.
The Ideal Versailles Afternoon Itinerary
If you want to experience the coastal walk, mud bath, and live fire show seamlessly in a single evening, use this timing strategy:
- 4:00 PM: Arrive at the Bai Truong coast and enjoy a relaxing 45-minute stroll along the shoreline.
- 5:00 PM: Check into Versailles for your 60-to-90-minute mineral mud bath, hydrotherapy, and sauna session.
- 6:30 PM: Shower off, change into fresh clothes, and grab a front-row beachfront table at the restaurant.
- 7:00 PM: Enjoy dinner and drinks while taking in the live fire dancing performance.
Conclusion: So Which One To Go?
Both mud baths deliver clean mineral mud, rejuvenating hot showers, and great price-to-value. Choosing the winner comes down entirely to the travel vibe you are looking for:
- Pick Versailles if you have limited days in Phu Quoc. The ability to combine an oceanfront stroll, a soothing mineral mud bath, fresh beach club dining, and a free 7:00 PM fire dancing show in one single afternoon makes it the most entertaining all-in-one package on the island.
- Pick Sóc Nâu if you prioritize peace, privacy, and deep relaxation. With its standalone circular stone tubs, serene mini-resort courtyard, uncrowded jacuzzi, and lower package prices for massages, it offers a superior therapeutic retreat.
- If you have a full week like me: Why not do both? Visiting Sóc Nâu for an affordable afternoon massage combo and heading to Versailles later in the week for sunset drinks and the fire show gave me the best of both worlds.

FAQ
- How much does a mud bath cost in Phu Quoc? Standalone mud bath sessions cost between 350,000 and 550,000 VND (~$14–$22 USD) per adult. Packages that include a 60-minute full-body massage, herbal steam rooms, and jacuzzi access range from 650,000 to 1,200,000 VND (~$26–$48 USD). Booking online in advance is generally cheaper than gate rates.
- What should I wear and bring to a Phu Quoc mud bath? Both Versailles and Sóc Nâu provide complimentary dark bathing clothes (tank tops and shorts for women, shorts for men) and clean towels so your own clothes don’t get stained by the mineral mud. You can go completely empty-handed, though bringing a spare change of underwear, a waterproof phone case, and slip-on flip-flops is recommended.
- Is Versailles or Sóc Nâu better for couples versus families? Couples and friends who enjoy an upbeat beach atmosphere, ocean views, and evening nightlife will love Versailles. Families with elderly parents or travelers seeking a quiet, secluded wellness break without loud music will find Sóc Nâu much more comfortable.
- How long do you soak in the mud tub? The actual mud bath soak is timed at 20 to 25 minutes. Soaking in warm, concentrated mineral mud for longer than 30 minutes can cause dehydration or lightheadedness. After the mud soak, you typically spend another 30 to 60 minutes enjoying the warm hydrotherapy showers, jacuzzis, and herbal steam saunas.
