This is a Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc review for how long to spend there.
I visited Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc recently together with VinWonders Phu Quoc on the same day. Before the trip, I was so worried that I wouldn’t have enough time to cover both theme parks in a single day. However, it turned out that doing both on the same day worked out smoothly.
I only spent around 3 hours (a bit rushed, though) in the park and still had a wonderful experience. If you don’t want to speed-run, I recommend spending 3 to 5 hours there—yet the minimum time for the park should be at least 3 hours. This blog post is for the strategy to tackle this park.
Vinpearl Safari In A Nutshell
From the official Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc map, it looks like a gigantic park. However, in reality, you can walk through the park—including taking the free Safari Bus tram for the wild section—in less than 2 hours if you move briskly.

There are mainly four sections in the park:
- Feeding Sessions: Close-up feeding spots for ring-tailed lemurs, giraffes, and elephants.
- Normal Animal Exhibition (Open Zoo): The walk-through zoo area located below the wild “safari” area.
- The Safari Area: Where you board the free Safari Bus tram for a 30-minute semi-wild “safari” experience.
- Bird Show Theater: A small outdoor theater near the main entrance for the scheduled bird show.
Located in the Ganh Dau forest of northern Phu Quoc, the park spans 380 hectares and houses over 3,000 animals across 150 species, ranging from Bengal tigers, African lions, and white rhinos to lemurs, giraffes, zebras, and flamingos. The park opens daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the last Safari Bus departing around 3:20 PM. According to the official Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc ticket guide, standalone admission costs 950,000 VND (~38 USD) for adults (140 cm and taller) and 710,000 VND (~28 USD) for children (100–140 cm) and seniors (aged 60+), which also includes complimentary entry to the Teddy Bear Museum (children under 100 cm enter for free). Meanwhile, the official Combo Ticket covering both VinWonders and Vinpearl Safari costs 1,500,000 VND (~60 USD) for adults and 1,100,000 VND (~44 USD) for children and seniors, which you can pre-book online via Klook. You can also ride the free electric VinBus shuttle from central Duong Dong, Long Beach, or Grand World straight to the entrance gate.

Two Parks In A Day
Buying online is usually cheaper than the official website or walk-in. There are multiple two-park (safari+Vinwonders) ticket online. I chose the 2 park in 1 day plus meal one during my visit. But if you don’t want to rush the one with 2 day (1 park each) on Klook is also a good option.
To me, the best section in the park is the Lemur Feeding (100,000 VND now, compared to most other websites still suggesting ~30,000 VND), followed by the Safari Area. Of course, if you have been to a real wild safari like the Masai Mara in Kenya or the Serengeti in Tanzania, this one is much more artificial. Even so, for me, the Lemur feeding is the most unique experience I have had so far in the 80+ countries I have visited.
Feeding Sessions

The animal feeding sessions are easy to locate—just find the feeding icons printed on the park map.
There are 3 feeding sessions in the park:
- The Lemur Session: Located near the upper corner of the Open Zoo.
- The Giraffe Session: Located nearby at the Giraffe Restaurant terrace, right next to the Safari Bus tram station.
- The Elephant Session: Located at the lower-right corner of the map.
As I mentioned, the lemur feeding is the most unique animal interaction I have had across all 80+ countries I have visited. Paying for the lemur session lets you step right inside their enclosure with a plate of fruit, where the furry ring-tailed lemurs hop straight onto your arms and shoulders.
The giraffe feeding session is also nice for close-up photos, though the one in my Bangkok Safari World review is better in scale, and Saigon Zoo in Ho Chi Minh City is a much cheaper budget alternative.
Note that the feeding cost is now 100,000 VND (~4 USD) per portion, compared to the ~30,000 to 50,000 VND suggested on older websites online. It is more expensive than expected, but the lemur feeding is totally worth it. As for the elephant session, I didn’t go since I had already done up-close elephant feeding during my trip to Laos as well as in Thailand.
Safari Session

The boarding station for the wild Safari Bus is located right near the Giraffe terrace. Included for free with your admission ticket, you step into an enclosed, air-conditioned bus and drive through double security gates into the wild safari zone.
During the drive, you get close encounters right outside the glass windows with fierce apex predators like African lions, Bengal tigers, and Asiatic black bears roaming freely without small cages. As the bus moves into the savannah and grassland zones, you will also spot southern white rhinos, plains zebras, reticulated giraffes, scimitar-horned oryx, blue wildebeest, waterbucks, long-horned Ankole-Watusi cattle, and ostriches.
The whole ride duration is around 30 minutes. When I visited on a Sunday morning around 10:30 AM, I waited for around 15 minutes in the queue for the bus, which was very manageable.

Two Parks In A Day
If instead you only want to visit the safari. Then the safari (with teddy bear museum) entrance option on Trip.com could be a good option. Given the ticket is still cheaper than the official one but you have one add-on, for you to enter the Teddy Bear Museum when you visit GrandWorld
Animal Exhibition and Animal Show
Keep in mind that almost all the animals here are land animals and birds. Remember that the giant aquarium and penguin exhibitions are located inside VinWonders Phu Quoc instead of the Safari!
The remaining walk-through area below the safari zone is for the normal zoo session (the Open Zoo). Walking along the shaded paths, you will see hundreds of pink greater flamingos at Flamingo Lake, rare white lions, white tigers, pygmy hippos, sun bears, and over 20 primate species (including yellow-cheeked gibbons, mandrills, chimpanzees, and ruffed lemurs), along with giant Aldabra tortoises, crocodiles, and iguanas in the Reptile House.
Just any normal zoo you would expect (that’s why I said Lemur session is the best)
There is also a Kidzoo session with gentle lambs and small herbivores. Other than that, you can go to the small theater near the entrance for the scheduled Bird Show (typically 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM). However, the bird show here is much more ordinary than the one I watched in the Philippines, and there is no free interaction with the birds. Because of that, I basically speed-ran this zoo section and skipped the animal show.
Timing Strategy
If you bought the 2-theme-park combo ticket like I did, you will be visiting Vinpearl Safari in the morning since it closes at 4:00 PM.
More importantly, if you picked the buffet meal option for your combo ticket, the buffet restaurant is located inside VinWonders instead, and you need to be there before 1:00 PM. That means you effectively have around 3 hours for the Safari in the morning:
- Do the Lemur Feeding First: Head straight to the lemur feeding corner as soon as you enter. There is basically no queue in the morning, and you can interact with the lemurs inside the cage for as long as you want. They are furry, obedient, and cute—they will stand right on your shoulders and are not aggressive at all.
- Giraffe Feeding & The Wild Safari Bus (Next Hour): Spend your second hour feeding the giraffes at the Giraffe terrace and taking the 30-minute wild Safari Bus ride right next door.
- Remaining Open Zoo Walk: Budget your remaining time to walk through the Open Zoo exhibits (or catch the bird show) on your way back to the exit before taking the shuttle to VinWonders
On the other hand, if you pick your meal inside the Safari instead of VinWonders, you can easily budget 5 hours for the Safari, which is more than enough time to enjoy all the sessions at a relaxed pace. I visited VinWonders on the same afternoon, and it turned out it didn’t take a lot of time to complete that park either—unlike the massive island park I covered in my Nha Trang review.
Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc Review: 3 Hours Is Minimal and No More Than 5 Hours
Wrapping up this Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc review, 3 hours is minimal and no more than 5 hours is needed for the park. With 3 hours, you can cover all the major highlights of the park—the Lemur feeding is the best I have ever had, and you still have plenty of time for the 30-minute wild safari bus ride.
If you want to spend your vacation in a more relaxed way, you can also consider buying a 2-day combo ticket and dedicating 1 day to each park, while using your spare time to enjoy your resort and explore Grand World Phu Quoc.
