How much is a Hawaiian shirt in Bangkok?

First thing first, a stylish Hawaiian shirt in Bangkok should not break your wallet. Yes it is comparatively more expensive than the Thai elephant series. But it is totally affordable.

Depending on the place a Hawaiian shirt in Bangkok can be as low as 130 THB to 150 THB( ~ 4 USD). For some branded shops, it may cost you around 400 THB (~10 USD)  or more for their unique styles. If you are buying Hawaiian shirts in malls like Central World, the price could be 1,000 THB +.

Based on my experience, at the range of 130 – 150 THB, there are already many high-quality Hawaiian shirts to choose from.

How many varieties of Hawaiian shirts are available in Bangkok?

As earlier mentioned, there are more varieties than we can buy there. If you are looking for a cute style, there are numerous Hawaiian shirts with cats, dogs, and other animal patterns. Meanwhile, some shops also offer plain or clean pattern styles. There are also a lot of wild and unique designs.

A local Thailand shop specializing in Haiwaiian shirts alone could have over 100 varieties.

So for men or women buying Hawaiian shirt in Bangkok should have various cheap and high quality options. Again most of them are just around 150 THB.

Well sometimes, you can even find wild styles like with different brands cross-over like the below.

Where to buy Hawaiian shirts in Bangkok?

The Chatuchak Weekend Market (JJ Market) is the best place where you can find cheap high-quality Hawaiian shirts in Bangkok. There are several shops specializing in Hawaiian shirts which cost you as low as 130 THB per. There are also some shops selling clean patterned Hawaiian shirts at around 400 THB, although I don’t think they are of high quality. Let alone, you can also find a lot of different other souvenirs there.

If you are not in Bangkok during the weekend, then Jodd Fairs night market would be the place where you can find some shops (although a lot less) selling Hawaiian shirts too, although the variety would be less and the cost would be higher.

Let’s say you only have 1 day in Bangkok. No worries. The most convenient place for buying Hawaiian shirts in Bangkok would be on the 4th floor of Platinum Fashion Mall located within 10 minute’s walk from Central World and Big C Headquarters. It has several Hawaiian shirt shops there. And there is one near the escalator that is selling at 130 THB per.

Of course in malls like Central World, Terminal 21, or Siam Paragon, you can also find some high-priced Hawaiian shirts. However, the price may make it less appealing.

What sizes are available and how to maintain it?

In general, you can find M, L, and XL sizes in every Hawaiian shirt shop in Bangkok. Some shops also provide larger sizes like XXL or even XXXL. If you are looking for an S size, I have only found NaNa Vintage at JJ market so far. For most people, the M or L side will suffice.

Maintenance of the shirts is very easy. You can just put it in a washing machine and then put it in a drying machine. They are somehow very durable and not likely to be creased. So there is no need to iron them after washing or drying. It is also very durable and can usually last for more than 2 years.

Lastly, it is not expensive making them quite expandable.

Is there a Hawaiian shirt for kids in Bangkok?

Yes, although not as many varieties as adult ones, you can find some shops selling cute Hawaiian shirts for kids at Chatuchak Weekend Market or Platinum Fashion Mall. In fact, I would say the kids version of Hawaiian shirt in Bangkok look cooler than the adult version. Also, the price is slightly cheaper at around 130 THB as compared to the 150 + THB for adult Hawaiian shirt.

What brands should I go for?

There is no particular brand. Some shops are selling similar patterns be it in Chatuchak Weekend Market or Platinum Fashion Mall. You just need to pick the style that you are fond of. It is more about personal preference, style, and fashion than brand.

My suggestion is if you are good with the pattern and price than just buy in, as may local shops do not even have a brand name.

On top of that, NaNa Vintage a local brand (their facebook click here) that I found in Chatuchak Weekend Market offers small-size Hawaiian shirts with wild styles. It is the place where I got the McDonald X KFC Hawaiian shirt.

Should I buy it?

Yes absolutely. Given the low price and variety, it is not only the best but for self-use, it is also good for souvenirs in Bangkok. It is hard to find somewhere else in the world that offers the same price and quantity of choices in the world.
