Ranking as the first one the Sheraton buffet offers a wide selection of local seafood including lobster for your selection. Despite the higher price, it has offered a matching quality and environment for your enjoyment.
Ranking behind are local buffets such as Grill Garden. Again it offers a variety of local seafood and you can top up for lobster. The price is much cheaper than the hotel buffet and you feel more local. The food quality is acceptable but not comparable to the higher-end option.
Ranking last is seafood that you can have from on-street hawkers. It is street food instead of buffet of course. And the price is not necessarily cheap as it is on a la carte basis. For example, a lobster can cost you 200k VND (~ 8 USD) which is no cheaper than Grill Garden or even Sheraton. However, it is a fully local street experience.
Nha Trang Sheraton Buffet
It is by far the most recommended option for eating seafood in Nha Trang. The buffet is open from 6 pm to 10 pm daily. The last check-in time should be 8:30 pm. The location is at FEAST restaurant in Sheraton Hotel Nha Trang.
Despite being a luxurious place, the price is surprisingly cheap. The best-value option is a buffet with one lobster and free flow of alcoholic drink at ~ USD 40. There are cheaper options, like a no-lobster option at USD 31, but they are not recommended. The most expensive option is an unlimited lobster package, which is usually over USD 70. Again, this is not recommended, given that you will get pretty full even after eating lobster with cheese, and let alone that you have over hundred varieties of other food and seafood to try.
Other than lobster, you will find prawns, crab, calm, squids, and other sashimis there. Additionally, there are local, ASEAN, and international foods. Along with the free flow of drink flow of wine. It is a great enjoyment at night after having a boat trip in the morning or having a fun daytime at Vinwonders.
Delivering beyond your imagination, they have a chef station to make freshly cooked dishes for you including lobster. I love their freshly made mango sticky rice (although I know it is Vietnam).
Their service is also excellent. To my surprise, they will assign a teddy bear to sit with me when I go alone….
Remember with this quality food, drinks, service, and environment, it is only around 40 USD (or ~ 1,000,000 VND). It is definitely worth going.
Grill Garden (local seafood buffet)
If you crave more local experiences, and not only having seafood at an international hotel. The local buffet restaurant should be your choice. Grill Garden located near the main road of Nha Tang beach, has the best package for enjoying local seafood. For 255k VND (~ 10 USD), you can have over 70 varieties of food for grilling there. For seafood, it includes prawns, oysters, squid, and calms. There are also other freshly BBQed meats such as lamb, beef, chicken, and pork.
If you want to top up with a lobster, you will need to add another 345k VND( ~ 14 USD) for an upgrade. The option is not recommended unless you really crave lobster. Because it will make your total cost amounting to USD 24 USD. If so why not add another 16 USD to have hotel service and free flow of alcoholic drinks at FEAST?
So if you are looking for economical local seafood in Nha Trang, the 10 USD package in Grill Garden is the most recommended option.
Street Seafood in Nha Trang
Street seafood is everywhere in Nha Trang. Every night after 6 pm, there will be hawkers along the Nha Trang main road on the opposite side of the Nha Trang beach. The seafood option usually includes lobster, prawns, and mussels. However, it is only for the traveller who looks for local-local experience. Because it could be the most expensive option ironically. For example, one lobster alone would cost you 200k VND (8 USD). Although all lobsters are freshly grilled and served, I would prefer better sit in other top-tier hotels or local buffet restaurants.
