Surprisingly, the price is very reasonable (despite the three-dollar sign on Google Maps). For example, a glass of red wine is only around 200k VND (~ 8 USD) and around 120k VND (~ 5 USD) for a beer.

It is only slightly more expensive than most of the beach bars locally but you have a good vibe, a good pool, and good DJ music. Plus, a better environment for meeting local young professionals.

The best winery to meet local friends

ALCO Room is the best local winery (or to be more specific beer/liquor store) to meet friends. The shop is near the busy main road (Trần Phú) and was opened by a Russian living in Vietnam for over 7 years.

The owner well-decorated the shop with a handcraft beer tap and various rums in wooden casks. The rum or beer-tasting environment makes it easy to talk to each other and thus make local friends. Plus, the price is super cheap there with a shot of rum for around 25k VND (1 USD). My recommendation is the coconut rum there.

The setting is very good for a deep talk in the cozy environment. Although it closes at 11 pm, still it is the best place for pre-drink while making local friends in Nha Trang.

The best beach bar where local hangs out

The best beach bar is Sailing Club for locals to hang out in Nha Trang. The bar is divided into two sessions, 1 session is near the main road with a roof and dance floor while another one is at the beach with sandbag sofas.

Usually, you will find elder local people and ex-pats in the seating area with the roof. Meanwhile, the local young professionals and also students would go to the sandbag area at the beach.

Although it is the most famous beach bar in Nha Trang, it would be harder to meet new friends as compared to Roofbar or the local winery. Usually, the locals would go in large groups and form isolated circles at the beach side for a chill drink. Without the right set of environment, it would feel a bit awkward to interrupt a group. Plus it is usually deemed as impolite in Asia culture.

Of course, if you are going with a group of friends (say more than 3 people), a group-to-group exchange session would be an ideal option to set in.

As for the price, it is only slightly cheaper than the rooftop bars. It caused around 100k VND (~4 USD) for a beer and 150k (~ 6 USD) for a house wine. So if you are going alone or in two in Nha Trang. It is better for you to go to rooftop bars instead of beach bars to meet friends.
