The ultimate Hong Kong Disneyland Frozen Ride Review will offer you a thorough walkthrough of all the rides in Frozen Village and other attractions you cannot miss in the area.
World of Frozen is a Hong Kong Disneyland new attraction. Since its opening in 2023, Frozen Land has been the busiest session in HK Disneyland. It is the first Disneyland in the world with a Frozen theme. No wonder everyone has been rushing there.
The area is part of the wider HK Disneyland theme park. The access to the rides and other attractions are well included in the admission ticket. It is one of the must-visit in Hong Kong on top of traditional tourist attractions like Cheung Chau, Old Town Central and Mongkok.
Can you feel the FOMO emotion already setting in?
No worries. Let me walk you through it based on my visit earlier this year.
The Frozen Land is similar to other areas in HK Disney. It is not big. Within 1 hour or so, you could navigate the whole area, assuming there is no waiting time for the ride and you don’t spend excessive time for photos.
The area mainly has two roller-coaster type rides, one live-performance type ride, a restaurant, a cake shop, a souvenir shop, several mobile snack and souvenir shops, plus several IGable icons. Our focus for this blog is to review the two rides. But I will also share your brief information for the other items.
While the online reviews for the session are controversial, I think it is worth visiting if you plan to go to Hong Kong Disneyland. As a standalone area, it may not be worth your paying the admission ticket unless you are a Frozen die-hard fan.
⛄The First Disneyland With Frozen! ✅ Book Your Ticket !
The First Disneyland With Frozen
HK Disneyland is the FIRST Frozen-themed park in the world where you can indulge in the Frozen World. The access to the area is included in the theme park admission ticket already !
The Most Worthy Ride – “Frozen Ever After”

It is a great 6-minute river ride (around 6 minutes and 12 seconds to be exact) on which you will be seated on a boat-like roller-coaster cart. The cart will ride through a river-like escalator. Throughout the ride, you will be greeted by Olaf and Sven, who will talk about the story of Elsa and Anna. Then, after that, you will go to the next scene of trolls (Pabbie) reflecting the Frozen 1 story. Then you will see the beautiful Frozen 1 ice castle.

With the whole world frozen, you will see Olaf dancing in the castle, then the scene of Anna, Sven, and Kristoff singing together. After entering the ice crystal door, you will be greeted by Elsa in the ice castle. Then, the ride will suddenly accelerate a bit and go backward with a beautiful ice scene with Elsa singing. Then you will be in an ice-cave. Seeing the cute Snowgies and Marshmallow (the big snow monster). Followed by a short sudden drop, then of course it comes to story end with Arendelle castle with great firework back drop. At least you will see Elsa and Anna reunited and sing along Olaf.
It is a great long ride with sing, nice scene and enjoyable. The waiting time is usually 20 – 40 minutes and well worth it.
⛄Frozen Ever After Is The Best RIde! ✅ Book Your Ticket !
Frozen Ever After Is Great
Frozen Ever After is the ride that you cannot miss during your visit to HK Disneyland. It has the best memorable Frozen scenes with a boat ride experience with some accelerations, sudden backward, and sudden drop.
The Disappointing Ride – “Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs”

Unlike Frozen Ever After, which is a more sight-seeing type ride, the Sliding Sleighs is more about roller-coaster (or supposed to be). It has the great exterior of a mountain connected with the roller-roaster rail. I was very attracted to the people screaming before the ride. I thought the ride would be more or at least as exciting as the one at Grizzly Gulch.
Usually, the waiting time for this ride is longer than Frozen Ever After for at least 10 minutes. Last time, I queued for 40 minutes for this ride.
Unfortunately, it turned out it was only a ~ 40-second short roller-coaster ride. There is basically no sudden drop. The cart didn’t go backward. It is not even as fast as Space Mountain at Tomorrow Land.
I even can afford to take photos with my phone while riding on the coaster (professional training required 🙂 ). However, the scene is disappointing. It is totally skippable if you don’t have much time. Or else you can take the ride around 7 pm which the waiting time should be shortest.
The Only Live Performance Show – Playhouse In The Woods

This is not exactly a ride but an interactive performance show. The show runs from 12 pm to 6 pm with several slots per day. Although you can walk in, it is not doable even during weekdays, given the popularity of Frozen.
The only way to get into it is to reserve a standby ticket via the HK Disney app. You don’t need premier access for the show; all types of admission tickets will do. Based on my experience, the standby tickets usually run out around 3 pm during even on weekdays. So make sure this is the first thing you do during your visit.
The performance show is based on a backdrop of a forest hideaway playground of Elsa called “Playhouse In The Woods”. You are joining the celebration for summer snow day after the end of Frozen I & II (potentially, given the story will involve the four elements). The show will start with the narrative of a mechanic, Olaf. Then, a live performer for Anna will join in, followed by another live performer for Elsa. Then, there will be an interactive session for you to choose one of the element statues of the four corners. In fact, choosing any of them would make no difference, as the show will always end with a dance with synthetic snows.
The show lasted for around 10 minutes. You don’t have to wait long with a standby ticket reserved. So it is quite worth it.
⛄Don’t Miss The Live Entertainment In The World Of Frozen! ✅
Don’t Miss The Playhouse In The Woods
Playhouse In The Worlds is the only live performance show in the World of Frozen. The show runs from 12 – 6 pm daily. It is very popular, and the standby tickets can RUN OUT! Make sure you reserve that via HK Disney apps (Android or Apple) first thing during your visit.
The IGable Attractions In The Adrenelle

Other than the three rides, there are three photo spots in the Adrenelle that you cannot miss. First is the snow crystal fountain at the central plaza, after you pass the entrance of Frozen Land. You will see lots of teenagers and kids in princess dresses taking photos there at the fountain.
Second is of course, the Adrenelle castle. The signature castle where Elsa and Anna live. The photo is best taken from the bridge with the sea and the Viking in the middle, forming a fairytale-like picture.
Last but not least is the clock tower of the Frozen Ever After ride. If you take a closer look at the clock, you will find a miniature Elsa and Anna on it. You will get great landscape photos with the sun around 11 am.
Don’t Miss The Night View

Additionally, the whole area will feel more Scandavian-like at night. You should revisit the area at night and take the Northern light-themed photos. I visited the area again after the end of the Lion King Festival at around 7 pm last time. This is the time when the ride waiting time is the shortest (because everyone is looking for a seat for the fireworks at Main Street). Also, it is the best time for taking night view photos of the Frozen Village.
⛄Don’t Miss The IG Spots At Adrenelle ! ✅ Book Your Ticket !
Frozen World Best Night Views
You should go to Frozen World at least twice during the visit. Because the day view and night view are super great for photos. Especially during the night, around 7pm, it is a lot less crowded you can take the best pictures !
The Northern Delight Shop

The cake shop in the area is also something you should not miss. There, you will find multiple great Frozen-theme desserts. During my last visit, I was so amazed by the cute designs such as Snowgies Candy Apple, Olaf Lemon Cheese Cake, Roni Red Velet Cake, Olaf Soft Ice Cream, and Coronation Sundae. There, you will also find exclusive merchandise from Disney and Godiva. There are exclusive Northern Delight chocolate box, Frozen Godiva chocolate box, and well even a big Godiva Chocolate Arendelle.
I don’t think you would buy all of them (although I want to). However, it is a very good place to at least choose one to try or buy some tiny souvenirs (I bought a Frozen Godiva chocolate for less than 10 USD). Also, most importantly, you should take photos there!
If you do love Frozen-themed food, there is an offer of Arendelle Royal Breakfast online. Youin can have a breakfast buffet at the area, meet Elsa and Anna. while entering the theme park an hour earlier to avoid the crowd.
To me, the price is quite expensive at ~ 71 USD per person (admission ticket not included). I would prefer to go for the semi-buffet at Mystic Manor instead, which has higher quality of food at ~ 34 USD per person. ,
The Souvenir Shop Near Frozen Ever After

There is another souvenir shop just at the exit of Frozen Even After. Again, this souvenir shop will impress you like it did me. It has all sorts of Frozen merchandise from magnest, key chains, shoulder push, to wearable Elsa & Anna socks to princess dresses. Again, the price varies, but you can find some affordable choices there.
For example, during my last visit, I bought a Frozen door board of Frozen at around 5 USD (after 50% off). It is quite a good deal for a small souvenir for me to retrospect the visit in this Frozen land.
⛄Don’t Miss Dessert & Souvenirs In Arendelle! ✅ Book Your Ticket
The Frozen Themed Desserts & Souvenir
The World of Frozen has the best rides and also IGable spots. It also has great dessert and souvenir shops that you should not miss.
Other Shops In The Frozen Land

There is another restaurant (Golden Crocus Inn) in the area. However, it is pretty ordinary. There is no Frozen-themed lunch set. The price is not cheap and the building itself is not very amazing. Other than that, there are also a snack shop selling soft drinks and other items, another souvenir shop selling mini-candy sized figures (259 HKD ~ 30 USD) per cup, and a mobile hair-making shop.
How To Get To The World Of Frozen

Again, the whole HK Disneyland theme park is not big. From the entrance to the Frozen land would probably take you around 15 to 20 minutes walk. All you need to do is to go straight to Main Street, passing the main entrance gate. Then you will see the Disneyland Castle. Walking through the castle, you will arrive the Fantasyland. Subsequently, you just need to walk straight and you shall see a sign for “Frozen”. The area is just near the Small World ride, so it is not hard to locate.
The map is also available on the HK Disney website.
The Best Time To Visit The Area

Frozen at the time of writing, is still the most popular area in the theme park. So it is crowded and even a lot more crowded during the weekend. To save the waiting time, the best time to visit is either in early morning around 10 am (or earlier if you purchase the Arendelle Royal Breakfast ). Even so, the waiting time for Frozen Ever After and other rides could be 20 minutes plus.
Another good time is around 7 pm, after the end of the Lion King Festival show and before the night’s fireworks show. During this golden period, the waiting time could be as little as 5 minutes. However, you need to be aware that the live performance, “Playhouse In The World” last shows ends at 6 pm.
⛄Early Admission To Arendelle With Buffet Breakfast Is Available !

Arendelle Royal Breakfast Buffet
The Arendelle Royal Breakfast option includes a Frozen-themed breakfast buffet, interaction with Elsa and Anna, and 1 hour early entry to the HK Disneyland (admission not included).
Is Disney Frozen Hong Kong Worth Visiting ?

As a local with over 10 times experience in HK Disney, I would say it is worth visiting. The Frozen Ever After ride is a must. The candy shop surprised me, and the souvenir shop even made me make several purchases. Not to mention the decorations of the whole area are great for photo for day and night view. I have had a great memory there. With the introduction of Frozen, even for local like me I suppose now I totally prefer HK Disney over HK Ocean Park.
Compared to other popular areas like Tomorrowland, Toy Story Land, and Main Street. It has its unique attraction point. It has been a good addition to the whole theme park since 2024. However, if on a standalone basis, it may not be worth purchasing a ticket close to 100 USD for the park admission. So you should treat it as a bonus session for your whole visit to Disneyland. Of course, there is no additional cost required for visiting the area other than the admission ticket for the theme park.
